Five Ways to Connect with the Candidates

There are several opportunities for members of the Diocese of Lexington to meet the bishop candidates during the week of walkabouts.  Please make plans to attend one of these sessions and inform Margaret if you plan to attend one of the potluck meals.

 

Tuesday, July 31:              Potluck Dinner:  6:00 PM, Grace Episcopal, Florence

Wednesday, August 1:       Potluck Dinner:  6:00 PM, Emmanuel, Winchester

Thursday, August 2:          Potluck Dinner:  6:00 PM, Trinity, Danville

Friday, August 3:               Question and Answer Session:  5:00 PM, Good Shepherd Episcopal, Lexington (This session will also be streamed live and available on the diolex website.)

Saturday, August 4:           Question and Answer Session:  1:00 PM, Domain Great Hall, Irvine

Episcopate: The Nominating Committee has presented a slate of five candidates for the election of the 7th Bishop of the Diocese of Lexington.  Profiles for each candidate may be found on the Diocesan website at www.diolex.org.  Bishop nominee Walkabouts are scheduled for July 30th through August 4th.  The preceding page contains a complete schedule.  Please make plans to attend one of the sessions.

Diocesan Convention: The 116th Annual Convention of the Diocese reconvenes for the election of the 7th Bishop of the Diocese on Saturday, August 18 at Christ Church Cathedral.  Delegates to the electing convention are Anne Day Davis, Jeff Davis, Donna Goff and Billy Hibbitts.

Wednesday Evening: A Holy Eucharist & Service of Healing will be offered at 6:00 pm.

Food Pantry: Please remember to bring non-perishable food items to the church for the Food Pantry.

In accordance with the Diocesan Cycle of Prayer we pray for Christ Church Cathedral, Lexington, The Very Rev. Carol Wade, Dean and Rector.

We pray for the churches of the Small Church Ministry Consortium and the election of a Bishop for the Diocese of Lexington.

Wednesday Evening: Join us as we continue our Spanish lessons.  A light meal is served at 6:00pm with a worship service to follow at 7:00pm.

General Convention: The General Convention of the Episcopal Church will convene July5th through 12th in Indianapolis, Indiana.  A webcast of the convention may be accessed live or on demand at www.episcopalchurch.org

General Convention II: There will be a town meeting Saturday, July 14th in the Parish Hall at 10:30 with Bishop Chilton and others General Convention delegates for post-Convention reflections.
